Faraday Typeface

The Faraday Typeface takes its cue from the Michael Faraday Memorial in Elephant & Castle. The structure itself became the matrix, the grid from which every glyph was born.

I studied the Memorial from every angle, searching for rhythm in its form. That process led to a two point perspective grid, a system that kept each glyph sharp, distinct, and grounded.

To bring the story full circle, I animated the spark of Faraday’s first homopolar generator, the moment motion becomes light, and the typeface comes alive.

Finally, I plasma cut the letters into stainless steel, laid over a square grid, a direct tribute to the Memorial that started it all.
